I enrolled in Beloit school near my hometown at age five, between 1998 and 2002. Later, I joined senior kindergarten and grade 3 within the same school, whereby my family had to move to Minnesota following the transfer and change my mother’s workplace. I enrolled in Lowell school in Minnesota, and while at school, I participated in a vigorous curriculum and was highly dedicated to playing and improving my tennis skills. Commendably, I did well in all my grades despite ups and downs until I completed the elementary grades. After completion of grade 6, the search for schools that supported athletics commenced, and I moved to a Catholic high school, where I gained more insights on playing tournaments further to high levels. The stage was highly demanding, and as I can recall, there were instances when I was easily distracted and could not pay time and attention to achieve excellent scores in school and extracurricular activities. Cruising on, the school was highly supportive, synchronizing my efforts to push harder to realize positive results that earned me a chance in international competitions. Within the same school, I enrolled in a high-performing athletic program that contributed to my substantive skills and high performance.

Like in the book “Learning to Read” by Malcolm X, I share some attributes that played a critical role in my education. In addition to school activities throughout high school, I always felt left behind as more time was spent in extracurricular activities. Given this, I began extra home training and reading ahead to ensure I always mastered concepts. Like Malcolm X, who was frustrated that he made his homemade education, I can assert that the extra efforts at home contributed to my success. After completing my high school program, I enrolled in Walden, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Education Arts. Since I was a child, my interest has revolved around teaching. My teaching background was strengthened in elementary and junior high school, whereas as the team leader, I was assigned presentation tasks where I led teams. In addition, I was always ready and willing to teach classmates in areas that I had a perfect mastery of; I enjoyed helping my colleagues, that played a significant role in helping me understand diverse concepts. This and other elements played an essential role in my career path of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education. Like Malcolm X, my relentless efforts played a critical role in impacting my performance. I gained extensive interest in learning and gaining new experiences in different segments. It is worth noting that Malcolm’s X capacity to learn the English language despite its complexity demonstrates resilience which remains critical in our daily lives. With all the knowledge Malcolm gained, he used to enhance and improve his experience and also help others during the African Slave Trade.

The good experience in my past schooling entails its numerous positive influences on my life. Particularly, playing tennis had numerous rewards that shaped my young mind. During the games, I always received prizes for a job well-done, which was the most interesting part. The aforementioned served as reinforcements that continue to affect me as I progress along the current path. I had numerous influential tutors who played a critical role in building my resilience and positive attitude. I had a great time with English lessons as my English teacher inspired me that you can become great if you believe in yourself. His guidance molded me into the successful person I have grown into. Overall, I enjoyed helping my colleagues, who played a significant role in helping me understand diverse concepts. This and other elements played an essential role in my career path of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education.

Like any other person, I had some negative learning experiences in my schooling. As for the bad experience, they happened during my initial years at the University. I was discouraged by inconsiderate behavior from other students, which raised my anxieties. I was losing confidence in my contributions, which significantly affected my learning. In addition, the experiences damaged my self-esteem, which further affected my motivation for school work. I lacked motivation, and my responsibility to participate in different activities was negatively impacted. Moreover, poor instructional methods, including challenges with interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, were challenging, but with time everything got better. In addition, playing tennis and concentrating on school work was highly demanding. As I can recall, there were instances when I was easily distracted and could not pay time and attention to achieve excellent scores in school and extracurricular activities. Overall, with damaged self-esteem contributed by the learning environment, I had a negative learning cycle, and withdrawal due to lack of motivation significantly affected my performance. Nevertheless, as time progressed, I interacted with different individuals, which made me get better with myself. The last three years at the university were the best; I learned a lot and could make decisions vital to success.
